The room overall was stunning and the Molton Brown toiletries were excellent. Delicious complimentary chocolate chip cookies and refreshing drinks in the lobby. Location is excellent, an easy walk to Nobu and to Malibu Country Mart. Staff were excellent and attentive at all times. I did keep the sliding glass doors closed at night, since you can hear the surf even with them closed, but with them open I think the ocean would have actually kept me awake. The view from the balcony was to die for and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and I've stayed in many four and five star hotels. I got the breakfast package and a Queen Ocean View Room which was a good deal and covered all our breakfast except for tip. Maybe when I'm in the area visiting my daughter or for the next Thanksgiving.īe forewarned this hotel is VERY expensive, and when you book online you need to be sure to check what the total will be after fees and taxes, as that is a considerable add on to the basic rate. There aren't many hotels where I say I'll be back, but this is one of them. Like most smaller upscale hotels, what makes a visit special is the warmth and friendly nature of the staff. There is a full menu service right from the beach. The beach is clean and the hotel offers guests the use of towels, chairs, etc. There's lots to do in Malibu including a local 'market' although nothing like what I'm used too as this affair included multiple upscale shops and restaurants. The selection included a perfect combination of breakfast items, salads, vegetarian, fish and steaks. Breakfast and lunches were great too - same great quality and freshly prepared dishes. I was so full, couldn't even make it to the desserts. I'm the cook in our house and thought I could cook a great Thanksgiving Dinner, but at the Malibu Beach Inn I have to say their traditional Roast Turkey with Veggies and all the trimmings rivaled anything I've cooked up. The food was fantastic and I'm going to give a special shout-out to the dining staff and chefs who served probably one of the best Thanksgiving Dinners I've ever tasted. The staff are attentive, friendly and eager to please. The view from the room was quite spectacular and a small balcony made drinking our early morning coffee very enjoyable while gazing over the glittering Pacific Ocean and listening to the waves crash onto the beach. Rooms are very tastefully decorated and of adequate size. The restaurant extends out so far from the hotel, you can actually imagine dining on the ocean! Check in was a dream made even more pleasant by the hotel-arranged car service who met us at the airport. The hotel is right on the beach and coupled with a refined decor and comfortable furnishings, it represents value for money. And while the hotel is definitely on the pricey side, in my opinion you get only what you pay for. After much research, we found the Malibu Beach Inn. So, when Thanksgiving came around, we decided to take our other daughter to California and spend Thanksgiving together. Late last year, our youngest daughter graduated from College, came home to our (East Coast USA) family farm and promptly announced she was moving to California! Since as parents we all know we cannot fight or prevent the inevitable, off she went.
